What is the best way to kill a villain in a cynical story: Big and flashy or swift and silently?
How does one kill the unkillable without it seeming like a hastily put together conclusion?

Garlic breath is a gift of from the gods. Do not get rid of it. It gives you time to yourself to do whatever you want. No one will tell you what to do whn you have garlic breath. Just bask in the glory of it until it wares off.
I think the best way to kill the villain is to not kill him/her. If you're writing a story, I've been writing one as well for about 9 months. It's a short story and it's still unfinished. Once upon a time a little birdy told me that killing someone to end a story is the coward's way out.

He's asking how to kill the character, not if he should or not. Why is Melee much more enjoyable than Brawl?

Why is it so much fun to taunt staunch defenders to their own beliefs for what they believe in a get a angry tirade in return.
Also: Why did I just end that question with a period?

That doesn't answer the question ya goose. He's asking how to kill the character, not if he should or not. Why is Melee much more enjoyable than Brawl? I can answer questions with an idea and not necessarily a straight forward answer. Melee is more enjoyable than Brawl becuase Melee is more based on the skill, timing, and precision of the actual player rather than how good the developers made the character. This being true makes your victory more enjoyable becuase you know that it was you that won because you are good and not your character that won because Snake is better than Link. Bane: You're talking about pokemon right? If so, taunting people if fun becuase it completely foils their plan to set up their game thus making it easy for you to win. If you thwart their set-up, that usually means that atleast one of their pokemon is useless becuase it can't do anything leaving you with a 5 on 6 advantage from the start. Not only is the period incorrect punctuation, but your sentence is grammatically terrible. Perhaps you were typing too fast.

Bane: You're talking about pokemon right? No, I'm talking about real life. Like walking up to Drew Christenson and telling him that a progressive income tax is better than a flat income tax. He then gets mad and loudly decries my suggestion while I smile and surpress my laughter. And I was hoping for some deep revelation about myself and not "you type too fast," but maybe I should have modified and fixed the post instead of modifing in a follow up question. Anyway...Why are there only 13 endings to the DS Chrono Trigger? Considering all the messing about you do through time, I would have expected more changes and more endings.

Why have I become addicted to watching CSI:NY?
Is it considered a bad habit if I keep opening and closing a fan out of boredom?

13 endings in Chrono Trigger? Well if they travel through time, wouldn't that allow for infinite endings? Infinity not beng a real number means that no ending for Chrono Trigger would be real. Therefore, no ending would exist. Now would you rather have 13 definite endings based on how you play the game, or have no ending at all?
CSI: NY = fail. Watch the original. It is still good even without Grissam. Lawrence Fishbourne is a good actor. If you keep opening and closing a fan, I'd suggest proffesional help, especially if you think something different will happen if you open it again. Otherwise, get a constructive hobby. I play guitar and drums for example.

I searched "archetype" on wikipedia after reading their articles on Superman and Batman, and it left me with questions.
It detailed psychological archetypes, but I was looking for literary archetypes because looking at different types of characters writers frequently used interest me. Do you know where I can find a good list of them?
What are the makings of a great villain?

No, this is my thread.
Bane: I don't know where you can find a list of them.
A great villain, you may have to ask me that in person, because I cannot express what I'd have to say on a screen. BTW, have you seen my comic book collection? It's got 400+ comics in it, full of villains. Ask me this in person, and I will tell you. But, if you want an example of a great villain, look at the Joker. Don't just look at the stuff everyone knows about the Joker, look at his relationship with the hero (Batman), and his psychology. If you think you understand the Joker you can't. He is not like any recreational villain who wants to rule the world. He has no motive, no objective. His attention span is that of rat.
Big question to ask yourself: Why has Batman never killed the Joker even after the Joker killed Robin (the 2nd Robin)? Why won't the Joker kill Batman? You know they can. Do you even kow how the Joker became the way he is? Research the Joker for your answer. He is simply a man without explanation. But ask me in real life.
