Here's the place you can provide reasoning/moaning/complaining/angst for the banning of Meta Knight. This is more of a vent because even though Meta Knight is amazing, he hasn't shaped our metagame in the area yet. Here's one for you all though.
Meta Knight's Infinite Dimensional Cape Glitch makes him worthy of a ban.

For reference, I provide you with this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdmwKfPchmsI think the "Infinite gape glitch" should be banned. HOWEVER, I don't believe we should ban Meta Knight himself. Yes, Meta Knight is strong, but does his strength mean we should ban him? I'm not sure we need to ban him from play. Banning seems like a last-resort thing to do only when our metagame is unhealthy, but we have no proof so far that it is.

There will be people saying the opposite claiming Meta Knight has a reputation for 3 stocking everyone in tournaments that he's been used at, but that argument is pretty wimpy at best due to the fact that the skill level isn't defined in such tournaments. I agree with the banning of the Infinite Cape Glitch as well due to the nature of it as well. You can disappear for an X amount of time, and you can pop back into the action with an attack ready. It's simply an unfair advantage that no one else gets in the game. I truly believe that the metagame needs to develop more with Meta Knight in it to see whether or not his strength would require a banning of sorts.

To be honest, I think banning MK would just piss people off.
MK is strong, and has the fastest hit speed, but it's hard to truly use him effectively.
It's like banning Kirby or Bowser, because they have the ability to grab and do sacrifice kills. or Pit, becuase he can fly for a long time.

This has gone very far. I found an official thread on smash boards create to discuss banning Meta Knight. It's currently in its second incarnation because the first go too large. I also found a poll, where more people are supporting the ban. Official thread: www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=197057483 pages and 7235 posts! People are serious about this... My question to everyone is...How does this affect us?

I say if things come to a ban, we should let Meta Knight still be used in our metagame. We don't really have a Meta Knight main in our community or local area I believe, so discouraging his use would be pointless. The professional community is considering this ban because he is the elephant in the room that rapes everyone up the pooper. If it gets to the point where everybody seems to need to use Meta Knight in an attempt to pull out a win in a tournament, we should, no, would ban him. Have you seen any footage of Meta Knight players? All they're really doing is spamming moves effectively in an attempt to drive the opponent of the side to the point of no return. Sure it does take some skill to use him effectively, but that's the same for all characters. The only difference is that his learning curve isn't as high as some other characters. Once we have people that are able to keep pushing you off the side due to his ability to jump five times and recover with pretty much any B move, our metagame will become a Meta Knight centralized metagame.

^ That'd be horrible. an only MK game? -___-.
I don't know what to really say on this affair. I don't see many MKs around...in our area.

Of course my argument is fallacious, but it does have a sense of honesty and truth to it, doesn't it?

I ought to run Meta Knight sometime soon, and see how he does in our area. I will report my findings after I try.
