Ah, the Battlefield. Looked on by many smashers as boring, and an inferior Final Destination. It is boring, I'll give it that, but inferior to Final Destination? Different. I personally would not compare the two.
The Battlefield is a flat platform with three smaller platforms floating above it. Two float over the right and left side just over characters heads and another right between them at double the height. It's a pretty small stage, so you have little room to run. The small platforms are what seperate Battlefield from Final Destination. The platforms can be used to hide on, baiting the enemy into attacking while you sit on the "high ground. They can also be used offensively, by jumping off them to attack aerial opponents or dropping from them to deliver an aerial attack. The Battlefield also has another key differnce from Final Destination: it has more depth for strategy. You need to think about the platforms while on the Battlefield, ignoring them will lead to your opponents advantage. In addition to being attacked from just the sides on Final Destination, it is easy to attack opponents from above, below, or either side. You need to plan well while on the Battlefield, while on Final Destination you just charge the opponent and blindly attack. Battlefield; it's not just a crappy Final Destination.

At least the edge you can glide up on. and maybe you can approch someone from a better angle, using the platforms.

Battlefield should be used more (edging) but i still like Final D for one on one.
A 50/50 chance between the two each tourny would be nice since they are the most balanced stages.

smashville is more balanced in terms of any stage in the game Platforms had a purpose in melee: uthrow a ffer and then combo....in brawl, not so much. They do help avoid projectiles, but honestly, if you go to BF thinking that you're gonna dodge a samus charged shot with it...you're way off. Going up on platforms is 90% of the time a bad idea because in brawl usmashes have INSANE priority over most every character's dair and at worst it's usually a tie, so you still die early. If anything, I'd say that the only characters that BF actually benefits are characters taller than/same height as marth/lucario. After that you're looking at random things a character can do that is just like lucas' usmash. And nobody cares about a balanced stage anyway because let's face it, the most balanced stage is the wifi waiting room, but that aint happenin and you're not gonna pick a stage because it's neutral, you're gonna pick it because you have the advantage.
