Ladies and gentlemen of the PLS Brawlers forum, the activity of the site has gone done significantly. There are quite a few ways to remedy this, and I thought it would be nice to bring this to your attention.
Ways to get people active on our forum
1. Create discussions. Discuss what you think a matchup between two characters is like, discuss some of the aspects of ATs that you've learned, heck, discuss the latest episode of Pokemon Members of forums thrive on pools of information that they can access and use for future reference.
2. Don't be afraid to ask questions. A few of our elite members have a wealth of knowledge on quite a few subjects that are Brawl related, so don't think your question will go unanswered.
3. Forum games. This is a touchy subject, I know from first hand experience. I will open them up again with a single stipulation, YOU CAN ONLY POST ONCE A DAY IN EACH GAME, VIOLATORS WILL BE BANNED! We all know that games are fun (hence the forum dedicated to Brawl but if you play too much, you end up with an imbalance.
4. Contests. Mac has a wonderful idea with the whole create a signature thread. We should definitely have more contests, and due to my interest in the subject, I'll be creating a whole board for just contests
Now that I've gone over a few examples of how people can get active, I must address another topic; the growth of our members on the forum.
We've basically hit a standstill on members joining, due to a few reasons. My guess is as good as anyone else's, but one thing is for sure; we do not have a lot of members.
How to Increase our Member Amount
1. Advertising. We need to advertise, there's no question about it. Those of you going to Play N' Trade tonight should consider bringing a printout with our forum URL on it. That's one of the many ways we can advertise. If anybody is extremely moved to help us with advertising, we could consider asking if we can put up a poster or some flyers in the school. This is the easiest way to get others to join our forum.
2. Assimilate other groups. As many of us know, there's quite a few Shakopee Smashers, and I've played around with the idea of letting them know about our site, but I'm not sure how we could contact them. We could also do the same with Burnsville students if we are so moved to do so.
Those are the points I can think of off the top of my head.
But now, for a scare tactic that I definitely will be acting on. Since the activity of our forum is getting so low, I feel as if this forum has become a tedious chore of checking something that doesn't get updated much. Due to this, I've come up with a time line for anyone that cares.
By the time the Second Trimester of Prior Lake High School is over, I would like this forum to be a lot more active. I'd like there to be a variety of people posting, instead of the same old regulars. If these demands aren't met, I will not be checking on this forum regularly for the sake of doing other things with my time.
Wishing best of luck and sending best regards,
TheOgbot
