Alright, I'm not sure if many of you are aware of this, but we do not have school on February 16th, due to it being President's Day, so this would be a great time to have a tournament. Now for a couple questions. 1.) Should this be open to MNsmashers? 2.) Should we consider asking Mystic Lake how much a conference room or something of that sort would cost? 3.) Would somebody be willing to host the tourney? 4.) Should this be a money tourney? All of these questions come to mind, and sure I could answer these on my own, but I really want an opinion from our community as a whole. Discuss

Something like Mystic Lake should be saved for this summer. I can help arranging that, considering I'm one of the few that can get into Mystic by myself. But I know a guy whose mom works there.
But over the summer, I'll try to arrange something of the same calibur that Beezo was. Maybe we could try to host something at one of the Prior Lake area schools like Grainwood or something, 'cause I know people.
But go ahead and do what you'd like for Presidents Day. That's of no concern for me.

best venues are usually ones that you or somebody you know has the hookup for (like lucas and beezo's venue or sparrow and ust or spikes and UW)
if you can get a free venue, just do that
I'm biased for mn smashers i guess, and yes it should be money

Mystic Lakes needs money.... I would say no to that and go to someone's house that has enough room to host a lot of ppl. Heck if we could get the school we could host something there.
Yes to MN smashers we need to play different ppl besides scrubs. Idk if i can host probably not if we have a ton of ppl.
No to money tourny. Yes to money matches.

How are we going to sneak a bunch of minors (c307 and Smartidiot) into Mystic Lake? Let's try something alittle more "reasonable" than a casino. I also do not want to spend money to just get the venue we are holding this at. It would be nice, but I'm too much of a miser for that.

I understand that as a general consensus. (fyi It's ok to be a minor at Mystic, you just can't be out on the gaming floor) So if that doesn't work, what would? Play N Trade isn't doable, I've talked with the manager, and he said that it would have to be Single Elimination. We all know how much we love single elim... (where's a barf smiley when I need one?) I also vaguely remember him saying no wired controllers too Hmm...

(Manager = Tommy am I right? ) Anyways, I say that we could try to ask one of the schools to let us use the auditorium or gym? If that doesn't work then a house is probably the best option.

Hey guys. I'm 98% sure I can organize a tournament in one of the schools over the summer or when I get back in early May.
To get MNsmashers there, it has to be a money tourney. There would be no sense in them driving far just to play for fun. $10 buy-ins are necessary. This summer Ogbot and I can make a large scale tournament happen. And minors can get into Mystic Lake. It's more than a casino BTW, and there are other entrances, but the room rental would cost a lot of money so that's out of the question.
So, have this idea of a large tourney wait until I get back. I'll have nothing to do for a few weeks in May until I start work (hopefully at PnT) so I'll have plenty of time to work this out, make some calls, and talk to some people about using a large facility.

I was aiming more towards the girl's bathroom, but the cafeteria was my second choice.

Can we hook a Wii up to the giant projector? That would be awesomely large.

dude, have you ever played on a projector? It sucks. UNLESS you have a converter cable from a smaller TV to the projector, which works wonders (projector gets some lag, but everybody can see it, meanwhile the guys playing dont hurt their eyes)
